Collaborative research project supported by University of California (UCSB and UCSC) led by Dr Laila Shereen Sakr and Dr Susana Ruiz. My role is in designing the architecture of glitch in game systems.

Inspired by the 2011 Arab revolutions, Data Bodies follows Sherene, a Palestinian historian as she uncovers the remnants of R-Shief, a digital archive and analytics repository of multiple social movements. In the game, Sovereigns (big tech) are large megamind AIs with regions they control. Each sovereign creates its own world of illusion and distractions to control cyborg
populations.

Data Bodies adopts an experimental approach to augmenting and glitching game interactions and connects to a live database on R-Shief.org.
